Universal's Loews Portofino features Italian-inspired architecture and canals leading to Universal's theme parks. Guests skip the lines at Universal Studios and Universal's Islands of Adventure hop aboard free water taxis connecting the property and Universal parks and get priority reservations at select resort restaurants. The resort's 750 luxurious rooms some overlooking the garden or bay feature marble trim rich textiles and elegant Italian furnishings. Pampering begins with waffle-comb bathrobes and plush beds boasting Sealy Posturepedic pillowtop mattresses down duvets and 300-thread-count cotton linens. High-tech perks include flat-panel HDTVs with premium cable and DVD players clock radios with iPod cables and Wi-Fi (for a fee in the rooms free in the lobby). There is a $25 extra charge per adult for triple and quad occupancy and pet-friendly rooms are available. Kids aged 17 and under stay free. “Beautiful hotel with very friendly knowledgeable staff that were just a text message away. Great location to Universal Studios with water taxis to get to the park. I loved the early access passes and express passes. The Italian restaurant is a must see. Breakfast was phenomenal, dinner was amazing! Staff were the best! The beach pool is amazing and is open until 11pm so you can visit the pool after a long day at the park.”
